The BMC Medical SpO₂ Kit for Luna G3 CPAP and BiPAP machines is designed for continuous, non-invasive monitoring of functional arterial oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and pulse rate (PR) during sleep therapy. It is intended for adult patients weighing over 40 kg and connects directly to the BMC Luna G3 device via the communications port for seamless integration.
With a 1.8-meter sensor cable, the SpO₂ kit is ready for immediate use once connected. Oxygen saturation and pulse rate are displayed in real time on the machine’s color LCD screen and recorded for detailed therapy review.
How It Works
- Attach the SpO₂ sensor to the index finger or another finger
- Plug the kit into the Luna G3 communications port
- SpO₂ and pulse rate values appear automatically during therapy
The system samples SpO₂ signals at approximately 50 Hz, with data updated every 1 second (1 Hz). Values are calculated using the average of the previous eight pulse waveforms to ensure accuracy. If the kit detects an abnormal condition, SpO₂ values will display as blank for safety.

Software & Data Reporting
When used with RESmart Sleep Therapy Software, the SpO₂ Kit provides detailed summary reports, including:
- Minimum SpO₂
- Average SpO₂
- Average Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI)
- Average Pulse Rate (beats per minute)
This data helps users and clinicians assess therapy effectiveness beyond airflow alone.
Usage Recommendations
- Ensure the fingernail is clean and free of nail polish
- Change the measurement finger every 3 hours
- Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days unless directed by a healthcare professional
Why Use the SpO₂ Kit?
The BMC SpO₂ Kit provides valuable oxygen and pulse data during sleep therapy, making it especially useful for patients with sleep apnea or other conditions where oxygen levels may fluctuate overnight.
